With perfectionist Dr. Dre at the helm of his project, The Game faced two possible outcomes: drop an outstanding album like all previous Dre proteges (D.O.C., Snoop Dogg, Eminem...), or drop from Aftermath after a prolonged creative stall (Eve the first time around, Last Emperor, Hittman...). By all accounts, Game was close to be added to the latter list until 50 Cent was tapped to inject some new and fresh ideas to the project. It worked.
