As bizarre a hit as Funky Worm was for the Ohio Players in the early 1970's, there's no denying its funkiness. And it should come as no surprise that the track has been sampled numerous times. Here we highlight a few notables. Dr. Dre used the sample twice: first with Dopeman, on N.W.A.'s raucous debut, and then with the thunderous posse cut Serial Killa that you'd find on Snoop's Doggystyle...

Not to be outdone, Sir Jinx and Xzibit tapped into the Funky Worm for the stoner cut Shroomz for X to tha Z's second album. Another X, DMX, another hot beat courtesy of Swizz Beats (yes, he samples!), and you get the criminally short Bug Out. This roundup wouldn't be complete without Killa Cam's own Dope Man. Assisted by Jim Jones, Cam'Ron displays some social awareness on this nod to N.W.A. and the west coast. (Nods to past bangers is something the Diplomats are very good at; they know their history.)

You can listen to the aforementioned cuts below. Let us know which one you prefer via the poll and let us know what you think. Enjoy!
