Editor's Note:
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then what would you make of this one, DJ Premier and Fab 5 Freddy in the same frame. The other guy, James Auburn – he co-wrote what you’re about to read – is trying his hardest to keep his cool in presence of such history. But, as you would soon find out, James, Darcie, and friend Vanessa shared a special day, they attended the first Milestones awards for musical innovation, wherein numerous hip-hop legends were honored.

Editor’s Note Anybody who’s heard an Immortal Technique song is likely to have understood that this New York emcee was on the political tangent of hip-hop and that he was extremely knowledgeable in matters of history and the record industry. Also an activist, Immortal Technique seems to take pride in raising awareness on social injustices, particularly in the United States and Latin America. (He was born in Peru.) So, it should come as no surprise that he felt like opining on the recent Hezbollah conflict with Israel. This is the last part of a blog entry he made on MySpace on July 24th. |
