Give Nina (and Ky) a Break

Nina BRavenel Records' Nina B, a female emcee from New York, has been grinding on the underground scene and paying dues for some time now. The hustle has not gone unnoticed: Nina B has been selected as one of the two up-and-comers for "Gimme A Break", a segment on Angela Yee's show The Morning After. For 12 weeks, Nina B undergoes "artist boot camp": beside getting a chance at showcasing her talent. she's issued a series of challenges and gets advice/criticism from industry insiders and the show's audience throughout. That will help determine if she's got what it takes to make it in the music industry. Nina's learning experience is chronicled through 12 episodes, courtesy of Scenario. The breakdown after the jump.

Melanie Fiona - The BridgeMelanie Fiona made waves when she opened for Kanye West on his 2008 European tour -- she hadn't even released an album then. Her debut came late last year: The Bridge, as far as I'm concerned, stands among the best musical offerings of 2009. You've not heard the last of the talented Melanie Fiona. She aims to spread her music all over the world and connect with the people as exemplified in this series of street performances. Read on, watch and enjoy.

Road To Victory, Pt. 6: Dirty Money

It goes like this: "Angels (Remix)" video shoot behind-the-scenes peek-a-boo, sneaker collection showroom peek-a-boo, studio session with Busta Rhymes. As DJ Khaled would say, "We go hard!"

Road To Victory, Pt. 5

Episode 5 shows DJ Khaled chillin with Dre of Cool & Dre and talking about songs they've done together. Birdman comes thru the We The Best Studios. Finally, Khaled plays a small snippet of a new record: "All My Life" featuring Akon, Mavado & Shyne.
